Fight City

by Clark Rodeffer

"I've really gotten into Fight City the last few weeks, but I can't help but feel like it's missing something. Instead of a city, it feels more like a small village. And since there hasn't been much news from Cheapass Headquarters about any Fight City expansions (probably due to slow sales), would anyone around here be interested in helping develop a few unofficial ones? Does anyone know if blank Fight City cards available? (I remember that once upon a time there were blank cards sold for Falling.) Anyway, using the ratios from the earlier decks, if we put our heads together and make up something like 75 Fighters, 15 Guards, 60 Locations, 10 Surprises, 30 Events and 40 Weapons, that'll be enough new cards to make Influence, Mastery, Pain and Pressure decks, thus expanding Fight City from a hamlet into a thriving metropolis. It would be nice to keep with the theme and the same major families, especially if someone inparticular was named on a previous card. Just to get y'all thinking, below are a few samples I came up with. If you think this is a good idea, post your Fight City card ideas and I'll try to collect them." - Clark

Heraldry Davies Stone (Unique Fighter, needs $1, gives Power, has Smarts, 2 Speed, 9 Hit, 9 Block: If Heraldry Davies Stone is killed while Peter Stone is in play, Peter Stone immediately takes his place. Any cash that was on Peter Stone falls into the Pot, but any cash that was on Heraldry Davies Stone can be used to support Peter Stone.)

Sleeping Dog (Guard, needs Food, gives Pain, 9 Speed, 4 Hit, 1 Block: Guards count as Fighters, but can not strike players.)

Consignment Shop (Location, needs Stuff, has $1 or Stuff (but not both at the same time), gives Pressure: If a capitalist anarchy is all about buying and selling, then the Consignment Shop must be the pinacle of society.)

Stampeding Rhino (Surprise, Speed: Play at any time during a Fight Turn. The Horn of the Dead Rhino gives Influence to the Fighter or Guard who kills it. 8 Speed, 3 Hit, 3 Block: A fully grown Rhino stampeding through town draws everyone's attack for the rest of this turn. Unless killed, discard Stampeding Rhino during cleanup.)

Sewer Back-Up (Fight Turn Event, needs Mastery: Play before taking a Fight Turn. Any cards in play that need Food are discarded during cleanup.)

Chainsaw Chain with Duct Tape Handle (Weapon, needs Skill, +2 Speed, +6 Hit, -2 Block: The chain without the saw is lightweight and easy to conceal. Unfortunately, the follow-through can be a real pain in the neck.)
