Welcome to Sherwood Forest, where the Poor are getting richer. A lunatic
named Robin Hood has taken it upon himself to rob the rich nobles of
Merrie Olde England and redistribute their ill-gotten wealth to those
who deserve it even less, the ubiquitous Poor.
You and your friends, a small band of wandering merchants, have taken
it upon yourselves to relive these simple peasants of their newfound
wealth, with such desirable medieval amenities as fyne arte, olde milke
and tropical fyshes.
Why, if it weren't for you, they might not even manage to stay poor.
Bleeding Sherwood was Cheapass Games number 004, and was taken out
of print in 1998. Now it's back in "orderware" form: a free
PDF. If you like it, we ask that you make a $10 order from Cheapass
Games. If you don't, well, at least it was free.
You will need to unzip and print three files:
a one-page rules sheet, and two decks of cards. The total number of
cards is 72, which is 45 in deck A (preferably blue) and 27 in deck
B (preferably gold). You can print these cards on heavy cardstock, or
on label sheets that you cut and affix to old playing cards. Sure, it's
work. But it's free. And when you're all done, you'll own a reasonable
facsimile of a little piece of history.
