As for the "hibernation" note above, Cheapass Games is currently projecting no new releases and no reprints in 2007. We are taking some time to sell down our bloated inventory of game products, and earn actual money working at real jobs at other companies. We have begun selling some titles from our back catalog to other publishers, including Kill Doctor Lucky, which is now available in a full-color edition from Titanic Games (an imprint of Paizo Publishing).
James Ernest continues to release new game designs into the wild, including the stunning Gloria Mundi, which shipped last fall from Rio Grande Games. Look for other news of James Ernest's moonlighting design career at Lone Shark Games.

Enemy Chocolatier

Our Featured Product this month is Enemy Chocolatier, for those of you who missed it during its 2006 release. It's an exceptionally strategic game with a "Euro Game" feel, but despite that quality it comes in at a very tight 40 minutes. With snappy cover art by Cheyenne Wright and full-color boards, Enemy Chocolatier is a steal at just $6.

Dead Money is here! It debuted at Gen Con to a warm reception, and is now available from our retail partner, Paizo.com. Dead Money is a zany cross between poker and Give Me the Brain, featuring glorious new Zombies and plenty of surprises.

Enemy Chocolatier

Enemy Chocolatier is new and very cool. The reviews are just starting to come in, and (surprise, surprise), they're great! Enemy Chocolatier is a strategy game with colorful, candylike boards and plenty of thinking, all crammed into a very fun thirty minutes!

Also at Gen Con, look for Titanic Games' demo table at the Paizo booth. Titanic is a new company that's bringing out a full color edition of Kill Doctor Lucky this fall. At Gen Con, you can see all the cool graphics for yourself, but that's not all. If you pre-order the game at Gen Con, they'll give you a free Dr. Lucky miniature to use in the game!

Dead Money off to the Press

Dead Money is off to press! Yes, the newest baby in the Friedey's series, Dead Money, has been shipped off to the printer, and we expect the game just in time for Gen Con. Come to the Paizo booth at Gen Con and play Dead Money. It's a zany cross between Give Me the Brain and poker, where you're all Zombies trying to lose all your money in a poker game you're not allowed to win. Coming for general sale in mid-August!

Cheapass Games Announces New Sales Partner

Cheapass Games is pleased to announce that we are changing the way we do business. Beginning in March 2006, cheapass.com will be transformed into an information-only Web page and all direct sales will go through our new business partner, paizo.com. What does this mean for you? Probably nothing; Paizo will offer the same products, same prices, and (for the most part) same pieces that we do. What does it mean for us? Well, probably it means making more profits and getting part of our basement back. So that's all good. Paizo is also taking over our distribution sales.

Many things are in the works at Cheapass Games, including the re-vamping of our Web site and the changeover to selling through paizo.com. We're also working on a few new games for 2006, including Enemy Chocolatier, a new board game about chocolate, nuts and love; Dead Money, a new Friedey's game set in the Old West; and (hopefully) Necrophonic Saves the World, a board game about a terrible Seattle band, featuring a music CD from the awesome Chicago band, Beatnik Turtle. Can't decide whether to kill Doctor Lucky or save him? Now you can put that choice off until your friends arrive with this unique expansion for both games. The Doctor Lucky Ambivalence Pack contains a new board for Kill Doctor Lucky, set aboard a non-sinking ocean liner, and a new board for Save Doctor Lucky, set inside a burning hotel. You will need the decks and rules for the original games in order to play with the expansion boards, but since they're our best-selling board games, we assume you already do!
